Channelview ISD board approves fiscal audit, personnel offers, budget amendment and policy updates in unanimous votes

The Channelview Independent School District Board of Trustees on Jan. 20 voted unanimously on several consent and action items, including approval of the 2024–2025 fiscal audit and authorization for the superintendent to offer contracts to presented candidates. Trustee Steven Dennis moved the motions approving the audit and personnel authorizations; Trustee Ramiro Granados seconded at least one of the motions and all votes recorded were 6–0 in favor.
Other actions taken by the Board included approval of Budget Amendment #3 (moved by Granados, seconded by Lynette Breedlove), acceptance of a donation from the Channelview ISD Education Foundation (moved by Granados, seconded by Hector Martinez), and adoption of TASB Policy Update 126. The trustees also approved a resolution designating a new Public Information Request Calendar. The meeting minutes from Dec. 9, 2025, were approved by a 6–0 vote. No items before the Board at this meeting failed; one agenda item (consider naming the Director of Human) and one resolution regarding Senate Bill 11 and policy updates DGA and FNA received no action.
