Center ISD sets Aug. 27 public meeting on $31.0M budget and $1.045 proposed tax rate

The Center Independent School District Board of Trustees approved a notice for a public meeting to discuss the 2025–26 operating budget and the district's proposed tax rate. The meeting will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025, in the CISD Administration Office Board Room.
Trustee Casey Lout moved to approve the notice to discuss a proposed Operating budget of $31,016,306 and a proposed Maintenance & Operations rate of $0.7575 plus an Interest & Sinking rate of $0.2875, for a total proposed tax rate of $1.045; Trustee Ben Wulf seconded. The motion carried 7-0.
The public meeting will allow residents to hear details and offer comment on the budget and tax rate before the Board acts. The Board did not vote on the budget or adopt a rate at the Aug. 14 meeting; it approved only the notice for the Aug. 27 public meeting.
