Randy Nelson introduced Baker Group and said the firm will provide municipal-advisory services if the council proceeds with the proposed general obligation (GO) bond that could appear on the Aug. 25, 2026 ballot. "We handle primarily cities and counties in the state of Oklahoma," Nelson said, outlining underwriting and municipal advisory experience.
Council moved and approved a resolution to select Baker Group to serve as the city's financial advisor for the potential 2026 GO bond and authorized the mayor and city manager to execute necessary documents. The manager and staff will use Baker Group's support to prepare offering documents and help coordinate the town hall and voter outreach effort tied to the proposed bond.
