Residents press council on door-to-door solicitors; manager urges reporting of unpermitted activity

Chris Charlton (216 Burke Drive) told the council he has seen an unusual volume of door-to-door solicitors and expressed concern about whether they carry Del City permits. "I feel like we should have, you know, something, you know, certain limit to that," he said, and suggested signage and enforcement to reduce unwanted solicitations.
Councilwoman Brown and manager Jodie confirmed the city requires a Del City permit for solicitors and said staff provided council with a list of currently permitted solicitors (Brink's Home Security and Power Home Remodeling were named as permitted). Manager Jodie asked residents to call the police non-emergency number or code enforcement for unpermitted solicitors. Council indicated staff will pursue mitigation options and reminded residents that a 'no soliciting' sign is an effective deterrent.
