Del City resident announces microchip stations, pet-safety class at Ray Trent Park

Ellen Cotillo, a Del City resident, told the council that microchip-scanning stations will be finished this week or early next week and that staff will record and post a demonstration. "We're gonna do a presentation and have it videoed and, of course, posted everywhere that we can," she said.
Cotillo said a pet-safety class is scheduled for Aug. 22 at Ray Trent Park from 2 to 4 p.m., that the city's animal control officer Victoria will attend and that a police officer may also be present to discuss dog safety and microchipping. She asked the city and local rescues to support microchipping outreach and said some rescues may donate microchips for a community lottery.
