The Canadian Independent School District Board voted Jan. 15 to authorize Alexis Beck, the district's Chief Academic Officer, as a Superintendent Alternate empowered to approve staff requests for access to one or more Texas Education Agency web applications via the TEA Login (TEAL) for Jan. 1–Dec. 31, 2026. The motion was made by board member Heath Mitchell and seconded by Jessica Cowden; the board recorded the vote as Yea: 6, Nay: 0 (Tatum Pennington was not present for the vote).
Board minutes record the motion verbatim: “I move to authorize Alexis Beck, CISD Chief Academic Officer, as a Superintendent Alternate for approving staff requests for access to one or more TEA web applications accessed through the Texas Education Agency Login for the calendar year of January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026.” The authorization allows the district to designate an alternate official who can approve staff access requests to state education web services when the superintendent is not the approver on record.
