Childress ISD board approves routine business, calls May 2 election and approves superintendent appraisal

At its Jan. 12 meeting the board approved minutes and consent items, called a Uniform Election for May 2, 2026 (Place 4 Matt Stone; Place 5 Carol Freeman), adopted TASB policy updates, entered executive session and approved the superintendent's performance appraisal after executive session.
The Childress ISD Board of Education approved a series of routine motions and personnel actions at its Jan. 12 meeting. Motion #6242 approved the Dec. 8, 2025 minutes. Motion #6243 approved the consent agenda (amendments, transfers and donations). Motion #6244 called for a Uniform Election on May 2, 2026, listing Place 4, Matt Stone, and Place 5, Carol Freeman. The board also adopted TASB Policy Updates 120-125 via Motion #6246.
The board entered executive session at 6:50 p.m. (Motion #6247) and exited at 8:44 p.m. Following executive session, Motion #6248 approved the Superintendent's Performance Appraisal as presented; all motions recorded in the minutes carried by 6-0 votes (Mr. Stone was absent). The meeting adjourned at 8:47 p.m.
