The Chapel Hill ISD Board unanimously approved revisions to Board Policy CE (LOCAL) clarifying fund-balance expectations. Clint McLain said the amendment establishes a minimum fund balance equal to three months of operating expenses and requires that, if the balance drops below that level, administration present a plan to the Board showing steps to restore the reserve.
Board members approved the local policy revision during the meeting (motion by Hershal Massenburge, second by Dr. Amy Hayes; vote: Yea 4, Nay 0, Absent 3). The change follows the district's recent capital decisions and is intended to codify financial monitoring and recovery steps for the Board and administration.
