The Hallettsville Independent School District Board of Trustees held a special session on Jan. 7, 2026. President Brian Smith called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. in the Administration Office Conference Room; the record notes pledges to the flags, a moment of silence, that a quorum was present, and that notice was posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act.
At 5:31 p.m. the board went into a closed executive session under Texas Government Code §551.074 to "discuss and consider the resignation, appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, and/or dismissal of a public officer or employee," specifically for the summative evaluation of the superintendent. The minutes show the board came out of executive session at 6:08 p.m.; no public action on employment status or personnel decisions is recorded in the minutes.
Following the executive session, Board Member Brian Henneke moved to adjourn the meeting; Jon Lamson seconded the motion.
