The Chisum Independent School District Board of Trustees voted to adopt the renewed District of Innovation (DOI) Plan and an implementing resolution at the Jan. 15, 2026 meeting. The resolution directs the superintendent or designee to implement the renewed plan and specifies the term will begin Feb. 1, 2026, and expire Jan. 31, 2031. The board adopted the resolution on a motion by Dashielle Floyd, seconded by Matt Patterson, and later approved the renewal plan on a motion by Larry Rickman, seconded by Travis Ball; each motion carried with the trustees present voting in favor and absentees recorded in the minutes.
The minutes include the full resolution language noting that required public notice was provided, public hearings were conducted, and the District of Innovation Committee approved the renewal by majority vote. The resolution states the renewed plan will be maintained on the district website as required by law and that the Board adopted the resolution by a two-thirds vote where applicable.
