Groesbeck ISD board approves 2024–25 audit with 'unmodified (clean) opinion'

The Groesbeck ISD Board of Trustees voted Jan. 20 to approve the district's 2024–2025 financial audit after an independent firm reported no material exceptions. Chris Pruitt of Patillo, Brown & Hill LLP presented the audit and said, "All things were good on the independent auditors' report with an unmodified (clean) opinion." The motion to approve the audit was made by Trustee Stephen Bradley and seconded by Trustee Jason Milstead; the vote was unanimous.
Pruitt reviewed the general fund, federal funding, grant administration, scope, ethics, accounting practices and the district's fund balance, and he told trustees the audit reflected no qualifications. Trustees did not attach conditions to the approval. The audit approval was recorded as a formal motion and vote on the Jan. 20 agenda.
