Candidate Eric Crowell urges board to protect Castleberry's budget, announces TAD nomination

Eric Crowell spoke during the citizens' communication period to announce his renewed candidacy for the TAD ballot and to urge the board to consider appointees who will protect Castleberry's interests. Crowell said he was selected as a conservation-district nominee for the fall ballot and pointed to his packet of materials for the board's review. "Castleberry ISD is 1 of 4 districts in the county that saw an increase in average home values," Crowell told the board and asked for their consideration when the board later votes on appointments.
Crowell argued TAD's role is to value property and that tax relief policy decisions remain the district's responsibility. He encouraged citizen participation and said he believes greater entity participation in the TAD nomination process increases transparency.
