Castleberry ISD recognizes teachers, students and programs at June board meeting

During recognitions, Communications Coordinator Abby Offenbaker and program leads celebrated multiple community and student achievements. Castleberry Elementary and Irma Marsh Middle School were named DFW Favorites gold winners (2024–25), Castleberry High School earned silver, and AV Cato received multiple recognitions for its ACE program.
Dr. Myrna Blanchard introduced the district elementary teacher of the year, Remy McLaughlin (AV Cato kindergarten), and the secondary teacher of the year, Christina Wyatt (Irma Marsh CBI special education). Both received classroom awards and $1,000 donations from the Castleberry ISD Education Foundation and will advance to Region 11 competitions.
Student recognitions included multiplication contest champions Juan Banda (3rd grade, 50 facts in one minute), Iger Solorio (4th grade, 57 facts), and three‑time district winner Axel Sanchez (5th grade, 67 facts). The district also honored 28 students who advanced to the Fort Worth regional science fair; projects ranged from plant science to AI mapping of bird activity. The ACE afterschool program reported $61,000 in additional funding for work‑based learning and a $20,000 TxDOT driver‑education grant for 2025–26; officials reported 266 students served in the school year and 1,359 served during the summer program.
