Good Samaritan administrator seeks window replacements and concrete repairs; facility reports 29 residents

Good Samaritan administrator Jackie Portschy told the commissioners the facility currently has 29 residents and presented June financials and capital priorities, including plans for new lifts and resident-room furniture. Portschy presented a proposal from Finley Energy to replace most windows (the front lobby windows were replaced in 2018) and showed photos of a sidewalk area lifted by a tree root that has become a tripping hazard.

Portschy said staff would like to keep the tree if possible and discussed removing and replacing the damaged concrete or installing a bridge to preserve the tree. She also reported noxious weeds growing near the facility; Commissioner Mosley said he has spoken with Noxious Weed Director Caleb Kastens, who will treat the bindweed in a couple of weeks. No formal action on window replacement or concrete repair was recorded at the meeting.
