Peaster ISD names campus and district Teachers of the Year; Jessie Martinez chosen as district honoree

Peaster ISD announced campus Teachers of the Year for the first time through Region 11, listing winners at each campus and naming Jessie Martinez as District Teacher of the Year to represent the district at a summer awards banquet.
Director of Communications Amy Henry told the board that, "for the first time in district history, through Region 11 Education Service Center, Peaster ISD has recognized a Teacher of the Year from each campus, as well as a District Teacher of the Year." She introduced the campus winners and noted the district honoree.
The campus Teachers of the Year named were Penny Ford (Elementary), Frances Monzingo (Intermediate), Misti Bobnock (Junior High) and Jessie Martinez (Peaster High School). Jessie Martinez was also named Peaster ISD District Teacher of the Year and is scheduled to represent the district at a district awards banquet this summer.
Trustees recognized the educators during the meeting's recognition segment. The board did not take formal action on the awards; they were presented as an acknowledgement of staff accomplishment.
