Pasadena ISD approves CTE partnerships, internships and a pre-planning subgrant

The board approved three items intended to strengthen Career and Technical Education (CTE) and student workforce pathways.
Trustees approved an interlocal agreement with West Coast University to allow internships and externships with no financial implications to the district. Separately, the board approved a Memorandum of Understanding with Good Reason Houston for Pasadena ISD CTE to evaluate pathways and strengthen middle-school engagement at a cost of $41,000. The board also accepted a 2025 Pathways to Career Regional Expansion Pre-Planning Subgrant from The Educate Texas Fund of Communities Foundation of Texas for $10,000.
All three items passed unanimously 6–0, with motions recorded as moved by Nelda Sullivan or Marshall Kendrick and seconded by Crystal Davila. Board approval enables district staff to proceed with evaluation and planning activities tied to CTE pathway development.
