The Pasadena ISD Board of Trustees approved an amendment to extend a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston to continue campus presentations of the Youth Aware of Mental Health (YAM) program.
The motion to approve — "Motion by Nelda Sullivan, seconded by Crystal Davila to approve an amendment to extend the Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and the Pasadena Independent School District to allow the continuation of campus presentations of the Youth Aware of Mental Health Program (YAM)." — carried on a 6–0 vote.
Superintendent Toni Lopez introduced the recognition portion of the agenda earlier in the meeting; the YAM extension was presented in the educational section as a measure to continue campus mental-health programming in partnership with UTHealth.
