The board approved the Elementary Local Improvement Plan at its Feb. 23 meeting. Elementary administrator Dale Ann Mizell presented the plan, which emphasizes four focus areas: Attendance, Professional Learning Community (PLC) structures, STAAR preparation, and classroom walkthroughs intended to support teachers and improve campus ratings.
Mizell reported the campus attendance rate at about 95% and described an attendance challenge program with class rewards. Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for March 6 (teacher work day), and a STAAR lock-in is planned to support student preparation. The board approved the plan by a 7-0 vote.
