North Lamar ISD board switches procurement method, selects Bobby Smallwood Construction for retention pond

Trustee Sheila Daughtrey moved that the board “adopt and approve the resolution removing the Retention Pond Project from the construction manager-at-risk delivery method and select job order contracting as the procurement method that provides the best value to the District for the Retention Pond Project.” Bo Exum seconded the motion, which carried 7-0.
In a separate unanimous vote the board selected Bobby Smallwood Construction Co. as the TIPS vendor to complete the retention pond work. The board also adopted a resolution delegating authority to Superintendent Kelli Stewart to select and engage an engineer—if needed under Tex. Govt. Code §2254—and to negotiate the necessary construction contracts incident to the project.
