The Peaster Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously Feb. 23 to accept the resignation of the district’s superintendent and to appoint Dr. Rebecca Stephens, the district’s associate superintendent, as interim superintendent.
Board president Jake Bashore reconvened the meeting after closed session and the board voted 6-0 to accept the resignation. Later the board returned from a second closed session and voted, 6-0, to appoint Dr. Rebecca Stephens as interim superintendent. Laura Stewart made the motions in both cases and Mike Bowling seconded; all six present trustees voted in favor.
