The Paradise ISD Board completed second readings and voted to adopt TASB Policy Update 126, which updates numerous local and legal policy provisions.
The update covers a broad set of policies including board meeting procedures (BE/BED), contracted services and background checks, facilities displays (CLE), cybersecurity and artificial intelligence provisions (CQB/CQD), personnel management (DGBA), student welfare and discipline (FFB/FFF/FFG), instructional materials and resources (EF/EFA/EFB) and other items listed in the update. Administration told trustees that some guidance from the State Board of Education is expected in April and that the policies are required for administrative compliance effective Sept. 1.
Trustees moved to approve TASB Update 126 (motion by Scott Cox, seconded by Renea Remmele); the motion carried 6–0–1. Administration clarified that communication restrictions discussed apply to employees and contractors, not board members.
