Paradise High School construction on track; board approves $575K FF&E purchase

Karl Prinz of LPA Architects reported that classroom wings and CTE buildings are framed and dried-in, with cafeteria and stage framing underway and site work progressing despite rain delays. Prinz said contractors are working six days a week to meet milestones.
The board later approved the purchase of furniture, fixtures and equipment for the new high school. Administration said the original FF&E allocation in the bond contract was $655,000 and that current purchases total approximately $575,000; the purchases must be finalized by the 16th to avoid price increases. The board was told Steele Freeman agreed to cover welding booth costs through the builder's contingency so program components would be preserved without additional district expenditures.
The approvals keep the construction schedule and procurement timeline aligned; weekly construction updates will continue to be provided to the board.
