Paradise ISD adopts new local policies and deletes old policy in response to SB 13

The Paradise ISD Board of Trustees approved adoption of EFA(LOCAL) and EFB(LOCAL) and deletion of EF(LOCAL) as part of policy updates driven by SB 13. Superintendent staff told trustees the separation clarifies processes for library materials and instructional materials, requires local library councils for material reviews, and specifies timelines for responding to material challenges.
Phil Erickson moved to adopt the proposed policy changes and Renea Remmele seconded. Trustees voted 6–0 to adopt EFA(LOCAL) and EFB(LOCAL) and delete EF(LOCAL). Administration said draft policies were prepared with TASB consultation and will provide a process for accepting challenges from parents, staff and residents and for local library council recommendations within 90 days.
