The Paradise ISD Board of Trustees approved an amended interlocal agreement with the Wise County Sheriff's Office to contract two school resource officers (SROs) at $60,000 per officer, for a total contract cost of $120,000 for the year. Superintendent Robyn Gibson told trustees the district had requested a third SRO and planned to use the state safety and security allotment to fund that position if approved.
Russell Read moved to approve the agreement for two peace officers; Trent Murphy seconded and the motion carried 6–0. The contract presented covered two SROs; administrators said they will pursue funding for an additional officer outside this two-officer contract.
