District sets five-year HB3 targets; Pampa High School reports gains and programs

District staff presented five-year HB3 goals covering early-childhood literacy and math and College, Career and Military Readiness (CCMR) for 2024–2029. The board-adopted targets include raising 3rd-grade STAAR reading Meets/Above from 31% to 55% and STAAR math from 24% to 58% by June 2029, and achieving at least 93% of graduates meeting CCMR criteria from August 2024–August 2029.
Pampa High School Principal Clay Jones highlighted bright spots at the high school: three campus distinctions, higher overall attendance year-over-year, fewer discipline referrals, 211 of 960 students participating in dual-credit courses, 12 seniors on track to earn an associate degree before graduation, five Spanish IV students earning a top AP score of 5, and multiple career-technical honors and certifications.
Trustees discussed strategies and progress monitoring; no formal vote was required on the presented goals during the meeting.
