Superintendent McBrain told the board the district is being awarded approximately $2,850,000 in Energy Transition Grant funds and that the Building & Grounds Committee has begun compiling a list of candidate projects across district properties.
Possible projects listed by the committee include landscaping and fencing, a student parking lot at Hillsboro High School, sidewalks, new junior-high bleachers, replacement of the bridge between junior high and high school, scoreboards and shot clocks, a roofing project at Beckemeyer, and an additional parking lot. The superintendent described the list as preliminary; the committee will refine priorities and costs before the board approves specific contracts.
