The Palacios ISD Board named Dr. Jared Duncum Superintendent Emeritus to serve in an advisory role to the incoming superintendent from May 11 through May 22, 2026. “I make a motion to name Dr. Jared Duncum as Superintendent Emeritus to serve in an advisory role to the Superintendent starting on May 11, 2026 through May 22, 2026,” said board member Brian Busby; the motion was seconded by Dane Kubecka and passed unanimously among trustees present.
The motion followed the board’s closed-session personnel deliberations under Texas Government Code Section 551.074. Voting detail in the minutes records five “Yea” votes and two absences (Becky Aguilera and Ron Laws). The appointment is limited to the advisory period specified in the motion and does not, in the minutes, list a compensation amount or duties beyond “advisory role.”
