Trustees approve submission of TEA CTE and Jobs for Every Texas grants

The Paducah ISD board authorized submission of two external grant applications during its Dec. 18 meeting. Trustees approved a motion to submit the TEA Summer CTE Grant on a motion by Jody Piper (second by LeRoy Rodriguez) and separately approved the superintendent's submission of the Jobs for Every Texas (JET) Grant on a motion by LeRoy Rodriguez (second by Jeff Richardson); both motions passed 6-0.
In other grant news, the superintendent reported the district had submitted a SECO LED Lighting Grant in the requested amount of $200,000. The superintendent said the district was initially informed it did not receive an award but was later told some calculations were incorrect at the agency level and applications were being re-calculated; the superintendent said the district would be notified of a final outcome in the near future.
