The Ore City Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously Feb. 2 to accept the district’s annual audit after a presentation by the district’s external auditor.
Robert Lake of Rutherford, Taylor & Company presented the audit to the board as a 70‑page report accompanied by a summary handout. According to the minutes, the auditor reported “there were no findings.” A motion to approve the audit was made by board member Bobby Byrd, seconded by Virginia Harris, and passed with all members voting in favor: Chris Barton, Matthew Pearson, Bobby Clawson and Bryan Davis.
The vote concluded the audit agenda item and no follow‑up actions or findings were recorded in the minutes. The board took the action during a special meeting called to order by Board President Matthew Pearson at 5:30 P.M.
The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled Feb. 23, 2026, where the agenda will include an Athletic Department update on a weight room project.
