Pilot Point ISD begins DCSEC transition, posts special education openings Jan. 15

Superintendent Dr. Shannon Fuller told the board on Jan. 14 that Pilot Point ISD is continuing its transition from the Denton County Special Education Cooperative (DCSEC) and that the district's immediate priority is filling special education positions to support students during the change.
Dr. Fuller said materials, subscriptions and student assignments are being transitioned among the four districts involved, and that the district hopes to complete the transition within about a month. Open special education positions were scheduled to be posted on Jan. 15, 2026. The minutes record current district enrollment at 1,757 students as of Jan. 12, 2026, up from 1,746 the previous month.
Dr. Nicole Park was introduced at the meeting as the district's new Director of Special Education; the minutes state she "brings over 15 years of leadership experience in special education."
