Board approves charter buses for Middle School Dallas trips and Parkway Perot Museum; OKs Washington, D.C. overnight trip

Drew Seidel moved and Adam Graves seconded approval of District Activity Fund payments for charter-bus transportation: $9,000 for Middle School (advanced math students to Math Day at Six Flags; other 6th graders to the Dallas Zoo) and $4,200 for Parkway bilingual students to the Perot Museum. The motion passed 6–0.
Separately, the board approved the Middle School’s out-of-state overnight educational trip to Washington, D.C., beginning May 31. Cindy Gabehart moved the motion, Aaron Klein seconded; the motion passed 6–0. The district notes these trips are paid by students and fundraising when applicable, except for the District Activity Fund items specifically authorized for transportation.
The approvals include dollar amounts for charter buses and the May 31 start date for the D.C. trip; staff will manage logistics and communicate details to families.
