The Pewitt CISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously Jan. 12 to authorize $100,000 from fund balance to purchase new instruments for the district band program, including sousaphones, concert tubas, euphoniums, marching baritones, mellophones and marching brass. The motion was made by Mark McCoy and seconded by Seth Hodges.
Board minutes list the items being purchased and record the roll-call vote as all ayes. The purchase was presented as a capital outlay from fund balance to replace and upgrade band instrumentation for district music programs. "8.F.
