Petrolia CISD board adopts 2025–26 budget and sets $0.9835 tax rate

The Petrolia CISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously Aug. 28 to adopt the district's 2025–26 budgets and to set the 2025–26 property tax rate at $0.9835 per $100 of valuation. Secretary Madison Kunkel moved to approve the budgets for General Fund 199, Child Nutrition Fund 240 and Debt Service Fund 599; Vice‑President Zach Bennett seconded the motion, which passed 7‑0.
Business Manager Theresa Harrison led a public hearing presenting the proposed budget and tax rates. Harrison reviewed the proposed Maintenance & Operations rate of $0.7705 and the Interest & Sinking rate of $0.2130, for a combined total of $0.9835. Vice‑President Zach Bennett moved to adopt those rates; Trustee Camille Bowman seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The board recorded no public comment during the hearing.
