Pampa ISD approves contract exception so district administrator can continue Region 16 work

The Pampa ISD Board approved a motion finding that the contract between Mrs. Pam Mitchell, a district administrator, and Region 16 Education Service Center satisfies the statutory exception in House Bill 3372 and Texas Education Code Section 11.006, allowing her to receive financial compensation for Region 16 training and administrative services. Mr. Piatt reported that Mrs. Mitchell provides 130 days of school improvement and Texas Instructional Leadership services to Pampa ISD and also has a memorandum of understanding with Region 16 to train Region 16 staff in Federal Programs.
Denise Intemann moved that the board find (1) the contract will not harm the district; (2) the arrangement does not present a conflict of interest; and (3) the services will be performed entirely on Mrs. Mitchell's personal time, and to approve the contract as required by statute. Misty LeBlanc seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
