Needville ISD board approves multiple renewals, adopts compensation update and introduces new athletic director

The Needville ISD Board of Trustees met April 15, 2026, in the district board room and approved a slate of routine business items, including contract renewals and an updated employee compensation plan. Multiple motions passed on unanimous 7–0 votes.

Motions recorded in the minutes show the board approved a contract for the 2025–2026 financial audit (motion by Tim Sbrusch, second by Chase Raska); renewed the Chartwells contract (motion by Chase Raska, second by Chantz Klemstein); and approved an SSC contract renewal (motion by Kim Janke, second by Chase Raska). The board also approved the Instructional Allotment and TEKS Certification for 2026–2027 (motion by Kim Janke, second by Tim Sbrusch) and an updated Employee Compensation Plan (motion by Tim Sbrusch, second by John West). All votes recorded as Ayes-7, Nays-0.

Dr. Paul Drake, the superintendent, presented informational reports including tax collections, bond fund information and the Special Education annual report. The board received a Safety and Security update and an athletics report and introduced Jared Sloan as the district's new Athletic Director. The superintendent reported campus enrollment and attendance totals: NES 1,140 (95.68%), NMS 857 (96.2%), NJHS 596 (95.7%), NHS 1,114 (95.66%), total NISD enrollment 3,707.

Personnel items were handled later in the agenda; the board approved recorded resignations and new employment motions (both recorded as unanimous). The meeting adjourned at 9:04 p.m. on a motion by John West, second by Chase Raska.
