Residents press commission to address infrastructure and density as comprehensive plan review begins

Chapetta described a personal crash on 701 South and said, "it took the police officer 2 hours to get to my location," arguing that high-density zoning in areas without road capacity or emergency access is dangerous and that the comprehensive-plan review should address these problems.
Commissioners acknowledged the comments and moved forward with the agenda item; the commission recorded a vote on the staff-referenced action. Staff said they have started work on the plan and displayed a tentative timeframe for the review and adoption process. The concerns voiced by residents during public comment were highlighted as issues staff said they expect to address during the review.
