Clerk Carol presented two community grant allocations for committee approval: an $11,000 grant for the Saugusty Heritage Foundation to help underwrite festival entertainment, children’s activities, advertising and safety personnel, and a $5,000 grant to the YMCA of Coastal Carolina for its "water safety for all" program, which provides free water-safety classes to local families.
Carol said the Saugusty award would be funded from districts 3, 4, 6, 8 and the chairman, and the YMCA award would be charged to district 3. Both motions were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
