County asks for $388,836.91 in grants-match funds to complete Race Path infrastructure project

Miss Tranter briefed the committee on the Race Path infrastructure project in Myrtle Beach, which includes sewer relocation, water lines, drainage and road improvements. She said procurement bids came in higher than expected and requested an additional $388,836.91 from the grants-match fund to place the project under contract and meet spend-down requirements for the CDBG allocation.
"We would need an an additional $388,836.91 to put that project under contract," Miss Tranter said, and she described the project’s total construction cost as "just over, $2,000,000. 2,182,000, 700." A committee member asked about earlier funding requests; staff noted prior amounts and that ARPA interest covered part of a previously approved $750,000 commitment. The committee moved and approved the request so staff could proceed with contracting and construction procurement.
