Horry County staff seek preliminary approval of HUD annual action plan ahead of federal allocations

Miss Tranter told the committee that as a HUD entitlement community the Horry County Home Consortium must submit an Annual Action Plan that sets forth next year’s program budgets and aligns with a public input process. She told members the federal budget process has been delayed, so final allocations for CDBG, HOME and ESG are not yet available and staff are seeking preliminary approval so they can meet HUD timelines.
"For our community development block grant program, we're expecting about $1,900,000, of of which about 200,000 goes into public services," Miss Tranter said. She recommended the committee approve the preliminary allocations now and allow staff to provide a red-line version and memo with final adjustments before the plan goes to council and HUD. The committee approved the preliminary allocations and the item will be trued up once final federal amounts are known.
