Staff presented an application by Ashwood Holdings to rezone approximately 42.35 acres from LFA to AG3 for trade-shop uses on McKinley Shortcut Road in the Conway area. Staff noted the site is mostly vacant and the future land-use designation is rural.
Jonathan Hardy, representing Ashwood, described the request as primarily intended for commercial trade shops and said the site's location offers convenient access for such uses. "Like commercial trade shops, mainly just, you know, we figured in that 9522 area that would be a good spot for that because it's kinda can get anywhere quick," Hardy said when asked about intended uses.
The commission did not vote on the item during the workshop and the application will return for additional hearings and public notice as required.
