Agriculture Committee chair Mr. Klein also read a proclamation (Res. 26‑361) declaring 2026 the 'Year of the Woman Farmer,' referencing the 2022 Census of Agriculture and county statistics (more than 204,000 acres of farmland; annual agricultural sales exceeding $421 million; herd of more than 50,000 dairy cows).
Both items were adopted unanimously. The public hearing will allow residents and stakeholders to comment before the board determines whether the district should be continued or modified as required by Article 25‑AA of the Agricultural Districts Law.
