Board signs major foster care and social services contracts for 2026–27

Human Services chair Ms. Roberts presented and the board carried contracts including: William George Agency for Children’s Services — residential foster care services up to $984,127.60 (effective July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027); New Directions Youth and Family Services — residential foster care not to exceed $500,000 for the same period; Gustavus‑Adolphus — residential foster care up to $49,327.83; sign language interpretation services with Interpretek up to $12,000; and Wyoming County Community Action administration and rental assistance up to $100,000. The resolutions specify contracts are contingent upon the availability of funds and are authorized under General Municipal Law §104(b) with county attorney approval.
The contracts were adopted unanimously (Ayes 201, Noes 0). The Social Services package stood out for its scale of residential foster care spending, particularly the near‑$1.0M William George Agency contract.
