Wyoming County accepts homeland security grants and signs public safety equipment contracts

Wyoming County supervisors approved multiple public safety grant acceptances and procurement contracts at their July 14 meeting.
The board carried Resolution No. 26‑373 accepting a U.S. Department of Justice reimbursement grant that covers 50% of bulletproof vests up to $6,921.32. It also accepted FY25 Operation Stonegarden funding through NYSDHSES (Res. 26‑374) for a minimum of $75,000 to support cross‑border law enforcement coordination. Separately, the board authorized contracts with Motorola Solutions: one for the Sheriff’s Office for three license‑plate reader systems (not to exceed $50,000, Res. 26‑375) and another for 911 antenna installations (not to exceed $48,000, Res. 26‑376). Additional homeland security and emergency management grant extensions and awards were approved for domestic terrorism prevention and emergency management performance grants.
