Menno police report: parade duty, theft complaint, mental-health transport

Police Chief Bryan Spiotti summarized department activity in July at the Aug. 3 Menno council meeting.
Spiotti told the council the department led the Fourth of July parade, responded to a stolen property complaint, handled an intoxicated person call, completed a welfare check and transported a mental-health call to Freeman hospital. The department also reported receiving a harassment complaint and conducting seven proactive traffic enforcement actions that resulted in one written warning. Council member George Cokens moved to approve the police report; Terah Schoenfish seconded and the motion passed with all votes aye.
The minutes do not record further discussion of staffing, budgets or follow-up actions in relation to the incidents reported.
