Village announces lake-weed and geese-control workshop, skate-share program and summer events

Trustee Zeth announced a public workshop focused on lake weeds and geese control at the senior center on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 10AM that is open to boaters and lakefront owners; the village plans to address timing, permitting and treatment strategies and urged volunteers to help with manual pulls and egg addling in spring.
Trustee Trezino described a new skate-share program at the Greenwood Lake Community Center where residents can borrow skates and return them after use; he encouraged donations of gently used skates and suggested reporting damaged pairs to Village Hall or police dispatch.
Trustee Zeth also said the village is scheduling beach and summer concert series programming and confirmed July 4 fireworks at Waterfront Park as part of celebrations for the nation's 250th anniversary in 2026.
