Council approved the award of a construction contract to Patton Construction LLC (Taylor) for realignment and roadway improvements on Old Howard Road, Windland Road and Northlink Drive in an estimated amount of $15,611,571.52. Staff said bids were received on June 9 and the low responsive bid produced significant savings compared with the engineer's estimate.
The project will include storm drainage, water lines and wastewater improvements and will improve connections to future Fire Station 11, which staff said will provide additional service to northern industrial areas. "The bid came at $15,600,000, and the OPC was 22.08," staff reported. Council approved the contract unanimously.
