The Village Board voted to authorize an application to the Orange County Office of Community Development for Community Development Block Grant funding to install a new elevator in the Village Courthouse to make the courtroom and meeting room ADA-compliant. The Chair said grant reviewers "truly thought it was a very worthy project," and the board expects project costs in the neighborhood of $150,000.
The grant request range was described as between $75,000 and $275,000; the Chair said the grant would fully fund the elevator and that no village funds would be required for the project. The motion to authorize submission of the CDBG application passed by voice vote.
