Chief Adam Iron opened a recognition segment and announced a promotion, praising the promoted officer's work and family support. "Tonight is a special night for the Greenwood Lake Police Department. It is my honor to promote detective Jason Dwyer to the rank of sergeant," Chief Iron said as family members joined the dais.
In his monthly report Chief Iron said the department handled 565 blotter reports in March, conducted 323 traffic stops, issued 215 summonses and executed five arrests; he said average response time for calls was approximately two minutes. "We are excited to welcome Alex to our team," Iron said when requesting board approval for a part‑time hire, naming Alex Rykowski as a candidate with prior town experience. The chief also described grants that funded recent upgrades (body cameras, UTVs, vehicle tech) and said the village has applied for additional equipment, including a boat with sonar for lake search and rescue operations.
The board approved the hiring resolution for the part‑time officer and gave the department leave to continue pursuing grant funding for marine rescue equipment.
