Veteran John Wolfer named Wyoming County Veteran of the Month; picnic set for Aug. 29

At the July 28 Human Services Committee meeting, Veterans Services representative A. Solina presented the Dwyer report and the committee recognized retired Air Force veteran John Wolfer as Veteran of the Month. The committee set the department’s annual picnic for Aug. 29, 2026, at noon at the Pike Banquet Center (Pike Fire Hall).
Minutes note that last year Director Solina drove the department van in the parade and that this year he intends to march with fellow veterans; Board Clerk C. Ketchum offered that she and Deputy Board Clerk Koerner would drive the van. No formal votes were required for recognition items and the picnic date was recorded on the agenda.
