Anamosa Council adopts Jones County multi-jurisdictional hazard mitigation plan

A councilmember noted that Brenda Leonard, who was identified by council as a subcommittee lead, "has been on top of this for several months" and called her "the expert in the room as far as I'm concerned." The council asked if the plan satisfied state requirements and staff indicated it met the necessary standards. After limited discussion, the council took a roll call vote and the motion to adopt the plan carried.
Councilmembers said they expect to revisit plan maintenance periodically and will coordinate with county emergency management staff on any updates. The city clerk recorded the vote and thanked Brenda Leonard for her work on the plan.
